Hi,

I am an IT guy and see that many in my industry seem to wear brand name clothing. Especially the ones with logos such as Ralph Lauren, nautica, A&F, Holister etc shirts and dockers, ralph lauren etc pants.

I keep thinking is it really worth to pay so much for brand name clothes? Do people value you based on what you wear?

What clothings do you people suggest?

Thanks!

Darlin, once you put the garment on, nine times out of ten, the label is going to be on the inside. Therefore, when you pay the costly tag price you are paying for a garment that isn't as well constructed as one I could make for myself. (I take a seam ripper/razor blade and remove labels off the pockets of jeans, etc. the only name on my rear end is gonna be mine!)
Don't you think that anyone basing their opinion of you on what brand of clothes you wear--would more than likely be someone that you'd really have nothing in common with........

Clothes are clothes. I think that as long as you look appropriate, you shouldn't have to pay $50 more for a dime sized logo. That's just insane. You can find clothes at Wal Mart that look very similar to the clothes in more expensive stores.

unfortunately, most people take a first look, like your clothes.
ex) have american eagle on=thought: he's got money
ex) have wal-mart clothes on=thought: he's cheap and cares less about his apperal.

i do shop at hollister @ ae all those stores but i don't think we should pay that much money to be advertising their store, like when you have HOLLISTER on your shirt...
