At least he earned his money. He is not as rich nor as hypocritical as Bush.

As a life-long Liberal, I often have to defend my kind against slanderous accusations of hypocrisy. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Liberals are practically incapable of hypocrisy. What you are mistaking for hypocrisy is merely selective application of a standard of behavior. Anyone should understand this.
For example, when Barbra Streisand tells people they should be ashamed of themselves for airconditioning their houses, she believes what she says. She is truthful. The fact that Ms. Streisand detests hot weather, and therefore is compelled to keep her mansions, and the warehouse where she keeps her memorabilia and extra clothes airconditioned, in no way diminishes from her impassioned message of love for our planet.
When George Soros admonishes unprincipled corporate tycoons for not caring about the consequences of their business dealings, he should be applauded. Instead, people unfairly point out he intentionally brought Indonesia to the brink of bankruptcy by speculating against its currency, earning him the wrath of asians who called Soros "an economic war criminal" who "sucks the blood from the people". Now I'm sure George is quite sorry he bankrupted millions of people and destroyed asian economies with his swift and ruthless speculation.
It saddens me deeply when Michael Moore is attacked. He is one of our shining stars, and a great friend to minorities. Mr. Moore even boasted that, if you are a young black person, you should send your resume to him because his production company wants to hire blacks. Now, in reality the number of blacks he employs is minimal. About 3%. However, who are we to say he doesn't keep his word? How do we know how many minorities applied for a job with him?
So, as you can see, in every case, Liberals are completely innocent of the charges of hypocrisy.
John Edwards espouses fine, noble, and upstanding ideas. The fact that he cannot always adhere to these principles does not mean people should criticize him. Important people must sometimes be excused from living up to the ideals they promote. He doesn't have the luxury of playing by these rules. He is in politics.

is this one of those "a rich person can't care about poor people" comments?
I see you guys constantly talking about how he's a hypocrite... pointing to how rich he is.... and he talks about working on poverty...
I personally think a rich person can care about the poor... and I don't see how it's being hypocritical?

of course he is...did you watch the report on fox how he lives near a trailer park in his mansion...and never comes out to visit the poor white people who live near him...he doesn't care about the poor white people in America...he only cares about you if you are a minority or a rich white person who can benefit his cause...i think there is no way he will be president...he is the epitome of the classic clean cut guy who acts like the devil...

If he feels the rich should pay more of their income to the government, no one is stopping him from donating a large portion of his wealth to the government to cut down the US debt or they could donate it to the poor. I forgot, his wealth came from tort law suits & junk science. The government might be tained by blood money.
John Kerry could do like wise. I'm sure Mrs Kerry would really scream POWER TO the PEOPLE then. BTW the entitled wouldn't be appreciative - they were entitled to it.
