Someone asked what is a "walk-off homerun." Of course I know that one but it got me thinking, and I ask what is your most memorable walk-off shot that your favorite team has hit?

The more detailed of an answer you can provide me the better. example: Was it a no-doubt shot to center feild, or was it a homerun that just barely cleared the outfeilder's glove over the wall? Was the pitcher wild, or was he pitching resonably well before tossing up a mistake? etc.

Just for the record, my most memorable walk-off homer took place in late June a couple of seasons ago. It was a tie-game in the bottom of the 10th at Oriole Park against the Yankees. I saw that the Orioles had the top of their line-up with Brian Roberts leading off followed by Melvin Mora and Miguel Tejada.

I'm thinking if the Orioles are going to mount a rally, they have the right part of the order to start with. Mike Stanton was on the mound for the Yankees, he threw a first pitch fastball, Roberts swung at it and hit a line-drive shot that went over the wall, and just cleared the foul pole. The first pitch gone! From the speedy leadoff guy not known for his power. You can bet I was a happy O's fan that night. :)

I used to go to games a lot as a kid, to the Kingdome in Seattle. On April 13, 1985, LF Phil Bradley hit a grand slam to erase a three-run deficit to end a game, with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. It was against the Twins' closer Ron Davis. I remember it was to leftfield, and knowing it was gone as soon as it was hit.
HItting a grand slam to erase a three-run deficit to end a game has only happened in a game 23 times in baseball history (and only five times since the game I attended), so I feel fortunate to have been there that night. . . .

Extra inning walk offs are the best. A walk off in the 9th is great too, but if you walk off in extra innings the feeling is just that much better. It makes you feel like your team battled, and fought until the end. BQ: Derek Jeter is my favorite player. I know he hasn't been ejected this season. I'm not sure if he ever has... I looked it up online and there are different answers. Some say he never has and some say once. I've never heard anything about it though.

How can you people give kirk gibsons home run a thumbs down. and the boone homerun was in 2003. i remember watching that as a fourth grader and crying thinking that would be the year for the red sox. My favorite walk-off was the 2004 ALDS. David Ortiz hit a shot over the monster to win the series in game 3. it was such a great moment for me because i thought that they were gonna lose the whole series after Vlad hit a gran slam to tie it up and i thought 'the curse strikes again'. But when ortiz hit that ball the excitement at fenway was unbelievable. i realized after that that the red sox really were world series bound.

Joe Carter 1993 world series walk ff home run to win it all. that my friends was priceless. "Heres the 2-2. Down the left field line... way back.....AND GONE" "Touch 'em all Joe you'll never hit a bigger home run in your life" R.I.P Tom Cheek that was one of the, if not the, greatest call in the history of the world series. Off of Mitch 'The wild thing' williams who was the closer for the Philadelphia Phillies at the time. the ball was said to have scraped the back of the fence, alluding to how narrowly it exited the ball park (this a joke mind you). It was hit just over the 330 sign in left field at the Skydome, now Rogers Center. With Henderson and Molitor on base after a walk and single respectivley.

Last night - Aramis Ramirez. Cubs vs. Brewers. Man, we were losing that whole game, and then, just like in a movie, it was the bottom of the ninth, Ramirez was up. And he hit a homerun to win the game.
