Well if you are talking about dances that people made up like the Butterfly, or the Humpty... well those are two of them, If you are talking about classical styles or maybe ethnocentric, i'd have to bust out a couple of books. but the bank head bounce, tootsie roll, the woo or woop, chicken head, soldier, the ever so popular macarena, the train, the Charlie Brown, the sprinkler (haha. just thought I'd throw that in there) the snake, the monkey, the swim, just to name a few. I hope that is what you were looking for.

Also there are things like the Waltz, the jitterbug, The Lyndy hop, hand jive, charleston, (not to be confused with the Carlton) Fox trot, and so on.

Most of the original ballroom dances are no longer popular. The oldest surviver is Viennese Waltz, and I can't exactly call it popular.
The ones that you probably have heard of but had never seen in real life are Polka, Quadrille, Masurka.
