The gazelle is an antelope and has horns. The horns on a gazelle as with other antelopes is made of keratin as well as other proteins.
The pronghorn, though sometimes called the pronghorn antelope, is not a true antelope. It is the only surviving member of its family, Antilocapridae. The male and female has horns that are made up of hairlike substance that grows around a bony core; the outer sheath is shed annually.
The deer, reindeer, moose, elk, caribou are all in the same family, the Cervidae. Unlike the other two, they grow antlers, instead of horns. Unlike horns, the antlers are not covered with keratin. Instead it is covered with highly vascular skin called velvet. Once it achieved its proper size, the velvet is lost and the antler's bone dies. Antlers are shed during mating season and regrown each year.
