That is really sad to hear that someone that young wants to kill herself. I hope that it's not because of an abusive or terrible home life. You are being a very good friend, she is lucky to have you. Would it be possible for you to talk to your mom? And then maybe your mom could either call her mom or the school, something like that? My daughter (also 12) had a friend that said she was going to kill herself and told my daughter how she was going to do it. My daughter felt like she was betraying her friend, but she was so scared and so worried about her friend that she told me about it. I told my daughter she did the right thing and I called the teacher at school ~ a person I knew I could trust and that would be able to help and who wouldn't tell anyone else about it. He spoke to the girl's mother, who had no idea her daughter was so upset, and she was able to get to counseling. She is now happy and doing great ~ except for the usual preteen problems! If you think your mom could help out in this situation, then you should talk to her, or another adult that you can trust to help your friend. Good Luck!!

I'm twelve, too and I also want to kill myself. The only reason why I'm here right now is because I realize that I have friends so you should make sure she knows that you're her friend. Show her that there are good things in life and that things will get better. Good luck!
Edit- Umm....ice-cream? jk. It's a good thing to me, because if I die, I'll miss it. Anyways, everyone should enjoy life before global warming starts kicking in and making everything worse. Here's a list of things that I'm grateful for. Maybe she'll feel the same way.
1. Sunshine
2. Food
3. Video games
4. My friends, definitely
5. Technology
6. Having all my arms and legs.
7. Being educated
You can ask her what stuff she can't live without....That might help. Or ask her why she wants to die and try to change those reasons. Here's a phone number for a suicide hotline- 1-800-TALK.

Want to be with her. Spend time with her. Make her feel needed and loved. Talk to her. Share more secrets as friends. Tell her about yourself but, not about you thinking she might kill her self (if she brings it up in a conversation listen and help her feel wanted with words and actions). I've experienced something like this before and I didn't get to her on time. HELP your friend.

being emo doesn't mean that u will kill yourself. emo is really only a dress code that has been changed to mean that your gonna kill yourself. if she is depressed, then that doen't make her an emo either.
counciling is always an option. if not just talk to her.

Talk to her let her know everything is alright. Aware the parents of the situation. If that does not seem to work pray and seek God for spiritual help.

yeah, tell an adult you both like. A teacher, even a parent or an older brother or sister or cousin. She may get mad at you, but at least you did something to help her instead of letting her kill herself.

Hey, do you both have another, older friend in common? Get them on board. If no police, then tell a trusted adult friend. You both need help and can get it and get better.

Just slap her on her face continiously until she fight backs. When she starts asking about the slapping then she is not in the emotional state. Then you can give all the lollabye to her until she gives up her intention.
