the eye is a lens the brain sees the image in the same way as a digital camera. Images from the camera can be downloaded
onto a computer, the brain is a computer,in the distant furture
could the images we have seen in a lifetime be downloaded
for all to see ,?

I hope not because I have some scary/dirty/weird thoughts and dreams and I don't want anyone to ever see them!

It would probably be easier to tap directly into the optic nerve, rather than waiting until the information is stored in the brain. Less is known about the brain, and it would probably be harder to reconstruct the images once there. There is also the question of how much of the images stored in the brain stay intact over time.

An excellent question.
The technology doesn't exist to-day and the level of technology required may not be attained in the life time of men.
Technological societies may be very short lived,maybe 350 to 500 years and what would be required may surpass that interval.

I hope so, But we'd need a better understanding of the brain first, If we could understand what all the parts of the brain were doing then maybe oneday we could do that...
However I think there is a problem because everyone's brain is different...
Or so is my understanding...
