Ppl respeond to things in different ways. Just like those ppl who cry when they are happy. It doesn't mean that you're mean or unfeeling. It's just the way that you express your feelings that your sub-concious is comfortable with. It also...may be...a way of processing all the horrible images that confront us on a day to day basis. If you start to laugh and then send a fan letter to the person who committed the infraction...then you should be worried. If it really bothers you...either stay away from the news, etc. or try to do some deep breathing exercises when you feel the urge to laugh. Laughing at some random crime and laughing at someone who you personally had an attachment to...are two very different things. I think it's just the way your sub-concious is trying to deal with all the crap that's out there.

It might be because you don't want to take these things seriously so you laugh them off. My cousin was like that. When my grandpa died he was laughing and joking around with everyone. It was just his way of dealing with his grief. Later on though, you could tell how emotional and hurt he was over the death. He just doesn't want to deal with bad things right away.

Sounds like you don't know how to "react" about the news... I don't think it's anything serious... -But you might want to keep those "reactions" to yourSELF. If it REALLY bothers you- get Counseling, you might be depressed.
