Why should the President be a Christian? The Prime Minister a Sunni? Etc... I hope Aoun becomes president. He's the only advocate of secularism in Lebanon.

Webby i truely believe that general Aouns mind has been taken over by aliens. Anyone else notice how he seems to be in bed with the syrian government??????????????

I used to be an aounist myself and i loved his message of brotherhood between muslims and christians in lebanon but now he has become obsessed with becoming president and has gone against everything that made him so popular before with all lebanese. Im trying to figure out which aliens took over his body
1. the greys
2 the red giants
3 the reptilians lol

What you refer to took place when lebanon was created. They needed to divide power among the government and give the muslims and christians equal power, since in a democracy majority rules christians dominated back then, muslims felt left out, so they gave them the premiership and the leader of parliament as a shia, to be fair. The constitution is the document that states the pres. must be christian, prime minister sunni, leader of parliament shia.. and so on... back then if it was free game, and lets say christians dominated all 3 branches of (pres. prime min. and parliament speaker), then the other religions would think its not fair, thats why the division of power took place. too many sects, too much power to be divided, not enought people were happy, so that is why the constiution took into effect all these issues.

I agree with you about starting to judge the people by their qualities.
I don't agree that Michel Aoun should be president though. There's a guy named Demanios Kassar and he's smart and great but no one is backing him up from any political side cuz he's not a politician he's burocrate. What we need is less politicians and more burocrates.

Amen to your question,
Aoun in not the only candidate calling for a secular regime and I doubt he is popular enough to unite the Lebanese.

religion shouldnt matter not only in Lebanon but anywhere else in the world. i dont think a country should follow any religious laws unless the population is 100% following that religion.

and what religion a politician is or what race or sex also should not matter. everybody should be given a fair chance and shouldnt be held back by things they cant control.

the problem is only there because iran syria and hezbollah want to rule lebanon and turn it into a new iranian state.
i'm sure lebanese ppl are sick of wars , they are very much open minded and educated . simple ppl only want to live and have a safe place for their children to grow up in.
whenever iran has followers in another country chaos emerges.
