By the pinkish part, you probably mean the glans or head of the penis. That is not cut off by circumcision. What circumcision removes is the very sensitive foreskin that covers and protects the glans. If the glans is exposed all the time, even when you're not erect, you've probably already been circumcised.

They remove the foreskin, a complex structure comprising 15 square inches (40 square centimetres) of skin area, over half the skin area of your penis, and containing millions of nerves. The foreskin is a double-layered sheath that normally covers the head (glans) of the penis. Normal foreskins slide, or can be pulled, back easily over the glans during erection. The foreskin has a unique ability to slide on itself almost the entire length of the penis and so acts like lube during masturbation and sex. Most infant circumcisions in the US are still performed without anesthetic. All other western nations now only circumcise a minority of boys as all medical authorities no longer recommend it.
