Tuck your chin and let it touch your chest and look down. Look down at the water as you dive in, don't look up or raise your head, and exhale when your face first goes in the water so you don't inhale water.

Same principal when you want to do a flip. If you tuck your chin and tuck your whole body into a tight ball, you'll spin forward, If you're not tucked you can't flip forward as easily.

As you push off, you should stand up but keep your knees slightly bent so you're not just kneeling down. Point your hand and keep your eyes on a fixed object on the bottom of the pool that is close to where you are standing. Tuck in your chin. Then push with your legs. Keep focusing on the spot on the bottom of the pool.

Give that a try... if you have a diving board, this trick should definitely work if you stand on the edge of the board.

I'm a swim instructor, and a lot of people I teach have the same problem. Generally, when you lift up your head before hitting the water, it causes a belly flop. Try to hug your ears with your arms in a tight streamline position and keep your head tucked the whole time. Don't worry about looking at the water, it's not going anywhere!

Good luck!

When you do that you are suppose to put your chin down as far as you can then you push your hand as hard aas you can on the wall orwhat ever you guys call it then you dive hands first then head then body and then feet make sure your feet is straight not flat or crokid.

watch other people
and go in head first
dont make your body even with the water
but to practice i would suggest wearing a wetsuit
you dont feel any pain from it
and make sure the diving board is high enough

When you jump put your feet and hands together and let your head go in 2nd, not first...hands first.
