My uncle immigrated to Canada, because he felt is was so hard for him to raise a family here. He's worried that since the cost of living here in the USA is so great, he wouldn't have time for his children, and putting them in day care is not his idea of being a parent. My other uncle went to New Zealand and says he now knows what it is to be human again. (with the same concerns of raising a family. Yet, people bash them and feel there is no better place than the usa. And the general attitude the usa has the best quality of life, when we rank like 18th in the world. You guys thoughts?

There are probably many reasons. One reason is to leave the US and write back telling people how great it is, could be seen as "you idiot why are you still there". So one has to be careful how they state their adoration for their new country while not bashing their old. It very easily could be seen as talking down to those who stay
Another reason is look at it this way. After a divorce. You stay with mom because you feel she is the best able to care for you. A sibling moves in with dad. They write back telling you how great it is. Dad buys me this, he takes me here and there. I have this and that. Now you could perceive this as a slap at your mom who you see working 10 hour days trying to provide for you and she is after all their mom too. You would feel compelled to defend her. I think that is what you run into.
People who are still here feel it is the best place to live as your one Uncle feels Canada is and the other feels that New Zealand is.
Now there is no need for either party to be obnoxious in their view. That never solves anything. You should try and understand the other persons point of view.

It doesn't sound like you or your family who's moved overseas is bashing the US (as some are inferring). They just found somewhere else that they prefer living. It is possible to enjoy more than one country.

It is hard for some to believe, but yes, there are countries with higher standards of living than the USA.

Every country in the world has its good and bad points. I love the USA, but I have also loved living in several countries abroad. So if I should "get the F out" because of that, I'll gladly accept donations for my plane ticket.

Because the punishment for treason is execution! (jk) It's hard to comprehend people leaving the US since we are a country comprised of immigrants. And this 18th in the world, where did pull you out that rabbit? The fact that you asking the question tells me that .....WE'RE #1!!!!! USA! USA! USA! USA!
Sorry dude. Most Americans are proud of their country. Even as a black American with the daily crap I have to deal from passive aggressive cowards pretending to be tolerant, there is no where else I want to live. I am proud of my country and it's accomplishments and so should you.

I love my country, but I don't see how it long it can exist as we know it. Mark my words, Putin is working hard on a means of delivering an "only" strike and whenever he or his successors put the pieces in place.... It's gonna be ugly. I think I owe it to my family to look seriously at overseas alternatives, and with my wife being brazilian that may be the place we end up.

I haven't seen that. What I have seen is many, many Americans who are now living outside the US make a point to continually bash Americans. And your question looks like you're on that same path.

Just go be happy in your new country and think about that country and its issues.

Most Americans have been brain washed since the day they were born. Ever heard a politician say that the US is the greatest country in the world? Hearing that over and over and over again all you life is called brain washing.

Your uncles sound like very smart men.
