how do i prevent my language bar from popping up everytime i turn on my computer? windows xp pro?

Try this:

Start > Run > "intl.cpl" > Languages tab > Details... button > Language Bar.. button > untick all check boxes > OK > OK > OK

Right click on an open area in the task bar, slide up to Toolbars, and remove the check from "Language bar".
