i was just wondering if i could use my laptop computer with a dial up PCMCIA card and connect it to a DSL connection. Is that even possible? this is all wired too. no wireless.

Nope, broadband and dial up are no were near the same. But you can obtain a PCMCIA card that has a RJ45 port. Then you can connect via a router.

Not with a pcmcia dial up.
But if you use a network router with your DSL gateway you can connect though your network jack.
or you can get a wireless if you so choice.

You can use your laptop on the DSL connection. Your laptop will have to have an ethernet port (or card) in order to connect into the DSL modem using an ethernet cable.

No. Dial-up is not compatible with DSL.
