Two favorites-
1. Sitting at the edge of a bay in Hawaii. There were dolphins jumping and playing. Low lying clouds on the horizon made for a beautiful splash of orange, yellow, and red filling the sky with fantastic sunbeams. Sunlight flicking off the splashes from waves. Beautiful.
2. Camping with my wife, I got up before sunrise to start breakfast. The sun came up from behind the tent, with the campfire smoke drifting up into the sky. A cold morning, a hot cup of coffee, purple/blue skies, and total silence. Then the birds started chirping and people started to get up from other campsites. For five minutes there, I could have been the only person in the world.

My best sunrise was after hiking all night up the rocky mountains and reaching the top of Mt. Timpanogos just in time to see huge sunbeams shining throught the peaks and a bright gold ribbon reflecting from the underside of distant clouds. The Mountains were a hazy purple, and the sky was fiery red and orange. I highly recommend it!!!

yeah once i was in the Maldives, and we had this water bungalow, i was sitting on the balcony which was right over the sea, i could hear the watter lapping onto the poles , at dawn. it was so quiet, and the sun rising over the sea bringing it to life with the sparkle it lends, was such a lovely moment getting in touch with nature.

I think I have seen it maybe once or twice. Usually I never get to see it since I am always asleep at that time. I usually see it when I am on vacation at the coast. I have also seen the sunset which is very nice.

Yes, while travelling through Texas where it was really flat, I got to see my first one at age 36. It was so beautiful. My son (at the time, 9 years old) was the only other one awake at the time, so we got to share that moment together, and I think I'll always remember it.
