First off, congratulations. I had my second little girl on Monday the 25th of June and we are in the same boat because I have to pump since she refuses to latch.
I had this same question and the only answer that could be given to me was that newborns all the way up to 4 months should be eating 18 - 32 ounces a day and between 3-4 hours but there are some babies that need to feed more in smaller portions or some babies that just need to eat MORE, it all depends on the baby. A 1 week old typically has anywhere between 1.5 - 3 ounces at a sitting. Right now my daughter is different at every feeding but according to my feeding chart she eats about 8 times a day. Sometimes she will eat 3 ounces and eat 4 hours later , others she eats 1 1/2 ounces but will want to eat again 2 hours later. I think if the Dr. says everything is good and you notice no significant change in weight loss , she is getting enough.
Just remember your baby should have at least 6 - 10 wet diapers a day. This is a very good way to judge if she is getting enough.

New born babies are always eating. The average times you feed a new born child is 8 to 10 times per day. Obviously not every single time it will be a full meal. What I did when I was breastfeeding my lil guy was that I ate solid food that will make my milk thicker. It worked like wonders. My son would eat in the morning, then a little cereal with my milk around 10 am, then lunch at 2 pm another snack time at 6 pm and then dinner by 8pm. In the middle of the night he would have another milk time and then sleep until 6 am for his breakfast.

It depends on the baby's appetite. Our little one drank 1-1.5 ounces and slowly moved up to more. She really wouldn't stop drinking, so we had to gauge her a little whenever she drank so much that she spit half of it back because she overate.
Pump as much as you can and let your baby drink what it wants. You can start to get a feel for how much baby is interested in and can handle. Also, don't let anyone tell you pumping is bad that early. I needed to pump that early with my baby and she has had no problems switching between the bottle and breast. I use the Avent products (pump and bottles) and find that they work great.

It's better to portion your breastmilk into a couple feedings than to pump 6-8oz. at one time.. Since, you can't reuse breastmilk... That way if the baby wants more than 2-3 oz. at at time all that has to be done is to thaw it out and there's not as much waste... I don't know about you, but I would cry over spilled (breastmilk)... Who's this "WE" character- it's usually the mother you know the one with the breasts that's pumping.. !!! (LOL) Good luck
