How do i speed up my internet connection without downloading anyhting?

also loading programs on my computer is also slow, how do i fix this?

Check the computer's memory. If it's less that 1gb, that's your problem.

Although some programs may claim to, there really is nothing that can speed up an internet connection. The amount of data, or bandwidth, is determined by the technology (dial-up, cable, DSL) and by the service provider. More and more people are going to broadband (cable, DSL) from narrowband (dial-up). As far as speeding up the computer, try to add/upgrade memory and/or processor. You may want to consider purchasing a new system. You can also defragment the hard drive. That may help a little.

You can speed it up by erasing some programs that are taking up too much space. Check how much space you have. For example if you have 30g on your computer you want to have at least half of that amount free. Having a lot of programs and downloads take up space and speed. If you have dsl get a router and make it wireless that way it goes faster. If you have dial up there's no way anyways bc dial up is slow not to mention you can't take calls so you'll miss them while you're online. It sucks. The fasted internet to have is wireless. Try comcast...it also comes with cable.

Run virus scan
Run spyware & adware scans
Delete temporary internet files
Run disk cleaner
Run defrag
