I've read that the ratio of people with dimples (in their cheeks) to those without is 1:11. But some people only have one, and apparently this is rarer. Why is this and what's the ratio of people with two dimples to those with only one?

It's funny you say that, because the ones I've noticed seem to be more common on the left side than the right!

Maybe someone should do a study!

It's really the ratio I want to know about! How many people only have one compared to those with two or the general population?

Has no one done this study cos I'm the only one that cares?

:)

It's probably genetic I think. Like that thing where some can role their tongue and some can't. I don't think its something important enough for people to do actual epidemiological studies on it.

It'll be hard to get fundings to study 'why some have 1 dimple and some 2.' I don't know if anyone actually done some studies on dimples. Some might have. Who knows.

A dimple is actually a muscle weakness in that spot.
