Yes! Loved it. I found it to be enthralling and also a little weird, both at the same time. I also liked the second book, "Petals on the Wind", but not as much as "Flowers". Cathy makes the best narrator. I think "Flowers" is underrated. Too many people lump it in with the rest of V.C. Andrews' work (most of which she didn't even write. A lot of the later, lesser quality stuff was written by other people in her name). "Flowers" deserves to be judged as a good book all on it's own.
Happy reading! :-)

This book seems to be a rite of passage for teenage girls. I know I read quite a bit of V.C. Andrews when I was in high school.
Looking back at it now, I really wonder why I read so many because those are some sick books. And every series is the same. Everyone winds up sleeping with their brothers and sisters and aunts and uncles - and absolutely every family has a rich, evil grandmother.
They don't bear much resemblance to reality, but I guess they're compelling in a soap-opera-ish kind of way.

Flowers in the Attic is a controversial 1979 gothic fiction novel by V. C. Andrews, discussing themes of incest, child abuse, neglect, and other taboo subjects. It became a bestseller with more than 4 million sold.[1] It is the first book in the Dollanganger Series, and was followed by Petals on the Wind, If There Be Thorns, Seeds of Yesterday, and Garden of Shadows. The novel is written in the first person from the point of view of Cathy Dollanganger. It was adapted into a film of the same name in 1987.

I've read it and several other V C Andrews books. Not really crazy about them. Hate that they all seem to involve incest. Makes you wonder what happened in her life to make her fixate on that. I haven't read any of the later ones that have come out since she passed away.
