Im planning to open a website, which maintains a set of online books in all fields starting from history to technology. literature to management studies.... Do i need to register my site with any organization, or do i need to purchace any licence. please let me know what are all the steps i need to follwo. also for your information this site is for students purpose only and all the content would be fre. so please let me know what i should do and how i need to proceed?

You probably need to have permission from the authors/publishers to display their published works on line.
