For my 21st, my Nan, Sister and my auntie and her family bought me a ring (my Nan dies last year so ring has a special place in my heart, but is not my best present). as I was at uni for my 21st, they asked me to go out and choose the ring and they would give me the money for it.

When my then 8yo cousin asked my auntie what they were getting for my birthday she explained about the ring. He then disappeared off and reappeared with his money box and asked to put some money towards it.

So on my birthday, I got a special card off my cousin with a 50pence piece wrapped up in it!

That is my best present ever!

The best presents are rarely the most expensive - its the ones with the most thought behind them.

I guess this is an ambiguous question, as we all see presents in a different way. My children are the best thing to ever happen to me, and I guess they were a gift of sorts. Present to me is when I have been given a gift for a special occasion, and in that instance it would have to be my camera because with that I make memories to last a lifetime and very rarely does a present last a lifetime.

Our family got to go to Disney World in Florida last summer! We had a free condo, rental car, and a thousand dollars in cash to spend on whatever we wanted! This was from the Dream factory in KC-MO,my daughter has Autism. Then She got to meet Hilary Duff and see her concert !! Hilary gave her a bag of goodies, an outfit, CD'S , autographed pictures, lip gloss and a stuffed animal. Our local news Channel 9 had our family on about meeting Hilary Duff!! It was the best gift ever!!!

I was 5, it was 1978, and the present was a gramophone of the type that looked like a suitcase. When you flicked the switch to play the record, it would drop down onto the turntable and then when finished the next one would drop down. Weighed a frickin ton though.

It was a card my son made himself for me when I was in hospital when he was five years old.
Inside it read "I love you mummy, if I was older I would wash the dishes, do the washing and make your dinner. xxxx
He is now older (18) and there are still no signs of any of these things being put into practice. But I still have the card, and it still tugs at my heart strings!

Photographs of my dad when he was younger - sent to me by my aunt (my dad died a few years ago). I actually wrote to her and told her they were the best present i had ever got.
