Sound like a scam.
Have they offered you a job ? Do they want you to cash cheques from their customers and then forward it on to them ?
Do they have a proper email address and phone number ? or is it a free email (yahoo, hotmail) and a mobile phone number (starts 07)

You can contact Companies House, a govt department that will give you details of a listed registered company. If they are not on the register the chances are they are illegally trading or do not exist. Do not trust them if they are not properly registered and do not have a traceable head office. If they are a LTD company then their details have to be, by law, available to you. Tread carefully.
