I really think that marriage at times is passe!, I think people do it more now, just to be legal, and whatever that may mean. It doesnt carry the importance it did once, and it's really disappointing.. I think people marry, with the thought of divorce, as part of this once great cremony...

Oh, totally. How many questions are on here that are about, how do I pressure my boyfriend to marry me so I can have the wedding of my dreams.
Personally, I wanted to marry the love of my life because I want to be with him forever, but I really didn't care one whit about the wedding. After all, that was only what made it legal. So we did a very small, very simple ceremony that maybe lasted 15 minutes, with a light lunch afterwards. No frills. It was perfect. You have no idea how many people were confused by the lack of wedding party/dress shopping/cake tasting/caterer arguing/bouquet toss/garter removal (ew!)/general stress and unnecessary crap. They just didn't get it.

Yes!! Totally! Since I've gotten engaged with my fiance everyone keeps asking when the wedding is! Like do they care what the effects of him living 6,000+ miles has on my feelings, my life, my happiness or emotional state of mind??! No all they care about is if they're gonna be invited and what kind of cake we're having!
The most important thing is being married. The wedding is supposed to be the fun celebration of a couple's love not a contestant for the party of the year contest. Makes me mad. Thanks for letting me vent about it, lol.

Marriage is fine but I hate the idea of not having sex before marriage. People should date for at least a year before they commit. Also getting married for money is a joke because it won't last. The love has to be there.

I think that some people get married for all of the wrong reasons instead of getting married for all of the right reasons and end up regretting getting married.

Yes, most definately.. I have often thought that people like the idea of being in a relationship and not the idea of being with the PERSON that they're with.

Yes, I love trolling weddings - the Bride's maid pickings are always so GOOD! And, sometimes even the Bride! OH YEAH - THAT DID HAPPEN!!!

Of course...there are people that are infatuated with the thought of being in "love" or in a "relationship". Not thinking of any consequences for themselves and those around them. Now that is so sad, they are not realistic...living in lala land.

just the motto of life.* U can't have sex u'll never fit in!* that's my viewing to that statement posted everyday in invisible INK.
