people get good at things by working on them and practicing not by being lazy and doing nothing. try doing something you like and working on that. its always better when you practice something that you like doing.

Some people seem to be able to do stuff easily.

Some people have to work inordinately hard to do something that those in the first group do.

Some people can't do anything. I believe that most of those belong in the second group, but they don't want to do the work . I think hat's either because they're lazy, or because they see the first group getting stuff done with seeming ease, and don't know about the second group..

I don't know if I'm all that good at anything either.

But I had a pretty good military career. I made pretty good money after I retired from the military.

I was terrible at sports all the way through high school. It wasn't until I got into college that I found out I could swim. Two years in junior college and I decided on the military. Got my BA through them and my MA when I retired. The rest of my education was on me. But by then I was pretty focused. I like research. I like discovery, and objective and logic thought. I don't know if I'm particularly good at it, but I've convinced some professors that I know something.

I'd say that if you're in high school..you still have a couple of years to get it together. I you're in college, there are tests available to you that can give you some ideas to pursue. They might be available in high school, I don't know... ask your counselor about aptitude tests--I think they may be called "career aptitude tests."

I used to think the same. I have no talent for sports, music, art, etc.

I've since discovered that one of my strengths is business. I have an enterprising nature and am goal oriented. I'm also good at seeing cause and effect relationships, a valuable skill. It's easy for me to take the long view, to look far into the future instead of dwelling on the past, present, or immediate future. Another strength I have is that I think big, and since I understand that failure is just part of the process of success, I handle disappointment better and therefore keep moving forward and pushing towards my large goals when a lot of other people would have thought "I knew I was being unrealistic, there's no way this is going to work" and just give up. I'm also fast learner. I can see the overall picture of what's going on in a situation as well... what works and what doesn't work, why, and how to make it work better. I use this ability to see what's really going on in combination with my forward nature to tell others (as gently as I can) why what they're doing isn't working and make suggestions as to what would work. (I try to reserve that kind of advice for those who are seeking it though... I learned that one the hard way, lol... believe it or not, there are a lot of people who don't actually care much about finding solutions for their problems!) My friends and family often come to me when they're feeling overwhelmed by a situation and are having trouble sorting it all out or coming up with a good solution.

So you see, people can have a lot of talents that aren't as easy to see or describe as "plays piano" or "has a black belt" or "makes beautiful stained glass pieces" or whatever. I'm quite certain that there are a lot of things that you're good at. You just need to realize what your strengths are and then find ways to make them work for you.

Fortune favors the bold, my friend. Picture how your life would be if it were absolutely perfect. This will help you figure out what you want out of life, and then you'll be able to set some goals for yourself (based on what YOU want, not what others want for you or what you think you should want). Once you get moving, you'll discover and develop talents that you didn't even realize you had. :-)

Not all people are good in something. Not all people have talents. Some have heriditary talents, others work hard on it. Some people, still even though they work hard on it, they are still in the average. You don't have to be very talented to enjoy life or to be successful. Get a job, follow the rules, try your best, be modest. Being the average joe has more advantages than what others think. To be gifted in a certain field tends to make the person always on guard for competitions and being very competitive is a bitter way to live your life.

Not everyone has to be particularly good at something. Some people are generalists. They can cope with a lot of things, are good at learning what they need to know to solve whatever problem they encounter. Our society is so insecure that we have to have a label - I am a "this" or a "that." It may be preferable to just be a person who "gets along." And I don't know how old you are, but life has a way of changing things and you may find that you excel at something that you know nothing about right now!

you have it in you, is just that you have not realize it yet because you are occupying your mind ...too busy... comparing with others. Just let the positive energy flow and soon enough someone will point it out to you. Everybody is good at something, no matter how small or mild it is. Even the innocent babies, they are naturally good at getting attention...lol. Give it some time, keep exploring that's the key... :)

Only you can decide that you are good for something. Think about it. Derek Jeter is a great baseball player huh? But if I didn't know anything about baseball and I ran into him then he'd have to tell me how great he is or I wouldn't know would I? I'm the greatest pilot that I know. Now I can't seem to find any other pilots who will agree with me but to me I'm the best. You can be the best at something you do to if you'll think about it a little.

Oh yeah, I in fact do know a bunch about baseball but I could never hit a curve ball.

You are good at something, you can operate a computer and type a question that is a lot better than many questions posted here. You are the one in control of your life, do something about the situation. Good luck.

You haven't found your thing yet. That's cool--keep looking!

Look at the things you really care about, really love, really take an interest in. You'll be good at those. If they're not sports, well, who cares?
