They are both colors I like and I'm thinking of putting them together in a quilt but I've never really seen them used together before.

Yes they are complimentary colors. The are opposites on the color wheel. Usually an indication of a good match.

Actually, I've never really thought of putting them together but now that you mention it... Yes... I think it would look really pretty. What are you using it for? To paint your room or something?

can u believe red compliments lavendar??? I had a g/f that used those colors for her wedding!!!!...I think mint green would go with lav.

if these two colors are the right shades yes -- if the shades clash then no. remember beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
