We have an allworx system here and we had a networking guy configure it as our router and pbx. Basically it has capabilities of a router and a PBX also a hosting server but cant be a data server. We also have a panasonic pbx and have a landline connected to the allworx system. I was wondering if the allworx system can work without a landline connected to it. Can the allworx system get the landline through the configuration of the system which then can work through the internet and not landline? If you do this can you not use your phone service provider? Or is it that you just dont use their service in the sense of paying for local, domestic and international calls?

I think your asking if you can use VOIP with your landline provider to get VOIP free?
If this is correct the answer is no
although you can use VOIP to call land line phones you must connect to a VOIP providers server first
