Do it the old-fashioned way - by postal mail. Actually hand-write the note, put a stamp on it, and mail it.

Tricky tricky. Personally I wouldn't. Usually at the end of an interview I thank the person for their time and say I look forward to hearing from them. Then I wait for them to call back. When they do, if they tell me that they have a more qualified person for the position, I thank them for their time and ask them if they would mind keeping my resume on file for any future openings. In some cases if you call just to thank them, an employer may take it as an act of desperation and impatience.

Hmm, I'm not sure what is professionally appropriate, but it sounds like a good idea. I'd send a brief, written note thanking them for their time, telling them I'm very interested in the position, and conclude by telling them I'll look forward to hearing from you. I think it would be polite and would keep you on their mind as a polished, interested, mature candidate for the job.

No, you're right. It is really pointless to be calling an interviewer to thank them for their time. They are very busy people and they might think you're sucking up if you call them. So the best way to express gratitude? Thank them in person after you get that job!

It's nice and courteous to send a thank you if you have someone's card, just send it to the address on their card. But it probably won't change their decision or influence them in any way. That was what my mother said...she's hired a few people in her time...

Actually, it gives you an extra in if there is a follow-up. It's an etiquette thing, even if you don't get the position, they may call you later for something else, due to your attentiveness to protocal.

as others have said in your OTHER REPEATED questions...stop obsessing, and stop asking the same questions over and over. if you don't feel comfortable doing something, then don't do it. if you don't want others' opinions, then stop posting questions - it wastes everyone's time.
