If you have large closets with a shelf over the pole, you could get plain or multi colored canvas tubs from Linen's & Things or Target to stack sweater, out of season clothes, scarves, purses, workout clothes, swimwear, etc. and label each tub.

The best looking idea I ever saw was modernistic rolling storage made from Sear's mechanic drawers. Each drawer was labeled and made the room really modern w/o much cost.

The link below is what I used:

Please see about getting some of those plastic storage drawers, like on wheels?
You might need more than one of them.
1) Separate papers from the other items. Label the folders as to topic they pertain to. Make a file drawer.
2) Label another drawer or two with like items title. For instance, hobby title, and hobby items.
3) Maybe use a smaller storage bin for items like pens, pencils, stapler, paper clips, rubber bands, etc.
Basically, store items with like items. Sports clothes with sport items, or close by.
A place for everything, and everything in it's place.
If there are things you can get rid of--trash, give away or sell, then please do so.
If not, then this reorganization of your things will help tremendously.
You will do fine. You will also find that once you have your room and all those items organized, you will be a lot happier with yourself. Not so frustrated due to not being able to find something, especially right away.
I hope this helps. Take care.

When I buy things (say like t-shirts) I wash them and line dry them over the bathtub and then a few days after they are dry I put them into a zip-lock plastic bag and put them into a box. I have things divided into 3 parts. One part of my closet are things that I wear for good like suits and blouses, t-shirts, slacks and that is either in one of those plastic kind of rectangular plastic with a zipper in the front. Then there is the second group that I wear occasionally and it's like weekday clothes. And it's merely covered with see-thru plastic. Then there are the t-shirts, slacks, etc. which I store in a small dresser and the overflow (I don't wear everything all the time so I save some things) is kept in zip lock bags in boxes and is stored on the floor of my closet. My shoes are in one large box on the shelf in my closet.

I have a queen size bed it holds two good sized containers.. .I also use space bags for out of season clothes.... I have linen boxes in my closet w/ important papers and such... I use baskets as well...Good luck

What about a filling cabinet. I have one for papers and one for just thing´s I want to keep, but don´t want to display in my room. You can have a nice bright colored one, even decorate the outside of it yourself. They come in all sizes. & old many things
