I honestly don't know...
If you're going to cheat, just break it off with the other person...but that would just make too much sense...

Sometimes the person that cheats is in love with two people. Instead of breaking up with one person for fear of hurting the person's feelings, he/she dates both people.

Maybe they just don't want to hurt the person by breaking it off with them..but you end up hurting them a lot more that way...I think it's pretty pointless

They know that they already have someone , but they are testing the waters to see what's out there. If the "new" thing don't work out, they always still have the one they got. Pretty screwed up I think, but that's what happens a LOT.

I would like to say Stupidity cuz I would never do that cuz it's just plain dumb.
But the fact is most of the time it's insecurities (whether in themselves or in their relationship) that leads to people making that foolish mistake.

Its probably because they still like who they're with but they just want to have some fun with someone else and experiment a little without losing the one they know they have.

Maybe it's because they have hope on that other person and they want to know if with someone else they feel better. Idk i've never cheated. ok maybe once. but it's a long story.
