Well this is interesting because I learned that you can fill up a glass to the top without it spilling over. You fill the glass up to the top then stop. Then gradually keep filling the cup but really slowly. Soon you will see the water coming over the edge without spilling over. Its because water molecules have strong bonds. But overall, it does depend on the size and shape.

Obviously you can make a glass as small or as large as you want.

The standard serving size for liquids is 8 fluid ounces in the US.
