My headlight has been burnt out for quite some time and I just got pulled over and given a warning. I purchased the headlight, but have no idea how to put it in. I am looking for a website with step by step instructions, and possibly illistrations. I need to change it today, mostly because the same officer sits in the parking lot across from my job and he said he's seen me for a long time, and I don't want him to see me again tonight! It is a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. Thank you for any help that you can offer!!!

Here is the step by step instruction You need..Open your hood. look behind the light you're trying to change the bulb on. You will see the wires running to the light. there is a locking ring that holds the bulb on the light. Turn the locking ring counter clock wise.Depending on which light it is you may have to remove the battery to gain space to get your hand on the ring and the light socket. Once the ring is off the light socket with the bulb should be able to be pullet straight out. Then you'll just lift the little locking clip on the plug and pull the bulb and plug apart.. When you install the new bulb it is important that you don't touch the glass bulb. If you want to ensure a long bulb life you can take some rubbing alcohol and wipe the glass part of the bulb clean of anything that could be on it. Yes even a new bulb could use this little treatment to make the bulb life longer. Then install the bulb, the lock ring and then the plug. It is really way simpler than it sounds! Just make sure you remember which way the lock ring was facing when it came off. And you don't try to put it on backwards. It will just get you frustrated and you won't know why you can't get it back on.

Eautorepair.net has online access to a service manual for a small fee---should show replacement instructions. Otherwise , try some forums for Grand Prix owners like
http://www.gp-owners.com/
Any dealer, body or auto shop can do it for a small charge also.

I have an 03 Grand Am, and the procedure is probably similar, but it would be very difficult to explain here. It's explained with illustrations in your owner's manual. If you don't have one, go to a public library and find the auto repair manuals and read up, or go to Autozone and buy the Haynes manual.

Not trying to be a di*k, but have u looked in your owner's manual? They often have those type of instructions.
Or maybe ask the guy behind the counter at the auto parts store ---- headlamp replacement is fairly simple. I changed one earlier this week & it took all of 3 minutes.

Good luck!
