Well, I took a tap class at a preforming arts camp for the past two summers. It was loads of fun, and I met a lot of people who share the same love for tap that I have. Definitely be prepared for hot days, and tiring classes.
Before my summer tap classes, I was taking tap during the school year for the past seven years. When I started, I was a lot different that what I was used to. My summer teacher taught a totally different style of tap, and I had a lot of adapting to do. When the summer was over, I realized that the work I had done really helped me. I had improved greatly without even knowing it.
So, my biggest tip is to be prepared to learn a new style of dance that you already think you have mastered, and to be patient.
Best of luck!!! = )

Its so much fun... i didnt necessarily go to an overnight camp. The instructors came to our dance class and taught us for a whole week. Everyday we would come and learn and at the end of the day go home. For our dance team this was a great solution because the instructors only concentrate on you... instead of all the other dance teams and groups.
But just be excited, try to be refreshed and hydrated, if you have any questions DO ask... you will learn more this way!!! Have fun... represent how great dancers we are!!!

I went to a 4-day dance camp. Bring your spare dance shoes if you have them, and all other stuff that you use to protect your feet. It helps me to change the shoes, because different pairs rub different placed and as the end result it's tolerable. Dance camp that I went to had 7 hours of dance classes per day, so my feet were refusing to work by the end of the day. But the teachers who taught at the camp were so awsome, I wanted to hear every word they say, so sometimes I sat in the corner and listened. I brought a notepad with me and I wrote down a few things. It was a lot of fun and I met a lot of new people.

i went to a dance camp thing, it was more of a dance convention. It was called Co Dance. and next month i'm going to another one called Dance Caravan. We learned TONS of choreography of different genres of dance. Lauren (from so you think you can dance this season) was one of the assistant teachers at Co Dance. And there were tons of other big name choreographers, that choreographed for brittany spears, shakira, ect...It was SOOOOO MUCH FUN!! but we learned the dances really fast and it was kinda difficult to keep up. but i can honestly say that i came home as a better dancer!
have fun!!
