Money money money.
PETA is nothing more than a joke when it comes to animals. If you really dive into what they do and what their goals are it would make you sick.
Sadly, PETA has wonderful potential to do world of good for animals between the star backing they have as well as the money they pull in... they just choose to do nothing, or pointless things with it.

Both probably. But even those members who are sincere seem to concentrate on playing people's emotions. The best way to help dogs and cats is to prevent unwanted litters, and the best way to help wild animals is to protect their habitat. I don't really see PETA on the forefront of those issues. There's a lot more money in putting naked models in fur coats and sending old ladies pictures of beagle puppies. Spending a little bit of money on a hunting or fishing license will do a lot more for the environment than sending PETA a lot of money to sustain their organization.

It's all about the money
It's all about the dum dum duda dum dum
I don't think it's funny
Say it'll fade away
It's all about the money
It's all about the dum dum duda dum dum
And I think we got it all wrong anyway
PETA is all about shock value and taking things to the extreme. They try to make you feel like you are committing crimes against humanity by eating meat or wearing leather.
They tell you all of the negatives in regard to the fur and leather trade, but what they don't tell you is that animals are killed everyday for population control and their fur and meat just go to waste. So wouldn't the crime be NOT using the meat and using the fur if the animals are scheduled to die anyways?
PETA rakes in tens of thousands of dollars with each and every campaign, most of it is turned into profit. It doesn't cost any money for their members to stand naked with signs in front of high end boutiques such as Burberry calling attention to their use of fur on their products. It costs mere pennies to toss paint on people who are wearing leather and fur.. So what do they spend their money on to help animals? The answer is, not too damn much.

Well my opinion is that they have some misguided ideas.
A vet once told me that he knew of a radical group inside a peta chapter that bombed a research hospital that were using animals for testing. The explosion only made the project more expensive and killed some of the animals.
It is one thing to love your pet and to help control stray animals by spaying and castration. But it is another thing to restrict research.

It's money, money, money. The people at the top rake it in, do you see them giving up their princely salaries to help animals? Nope, they play upon the emotions of poor softhearted and uninformed people to donate their money and time. Even better, they seem to like it where there's lots of media. After all it's free advertising for more money! Instead of saving the dang seals, they should be lobbying for spaying and neutering laws to reduce the destruction of hundreds of thousands of abandoned pets every year. In the end it's just another business marketing their version of facts to support their bottom line. You're better off donating to and adopting from your local pet shelter. Let's start at home first!!
