he smelled like he had been drinking. I didn't say anything to my husband. When the Pastor left, my husband said, now what was that smell? I don't know what to do, we are so turned off now. BTW sometimes preaches about this same subject. OMG I have lost something for him. Should we leave? He will never admit it if we confront him.

Is he a good pastor? Sometimes people have issues and they need help, but totally avoiding it and leaving it will not help. Maybe you shoud mention something, be adult about it and get it off your chest, if he denies it and is rude, then you can find another church, no big deal, but I would try to nip it in the bud.

So what???? Jesus himself turned water into wine, didn't he?!

Among Christians and other students of the New Testament, Cana is best known as the place where, according to the Fourth Gospel, Jesus performed his first miracle (scholars would note that it was His first miracle in Cana, acknowledging that His disciples were present at the feast, but with him in Capernaum where Mark records miracles after the temptation; Mark 1:25,31,34.), the turning of a large quantity of water into wine at a wedding feast (John 2:1-11) when the wine provided by the bridegroom had run out.

I am not sure how I would hold it. It doesn't say anything about drinking being a sin in the bible. It does say that being a drunk is not OK. I know that there are a lot of pastors that might have a glass of wine but I am not sure I could trust someone with my teachings if I knew that they drank.

I have an Aunt that at times smells like she has been drinking, but she is a diabetic and when her sugar level is up some her breath smells like she has been drinking, so before you get so upset maybe he also is a diabetic.

If I were you, I'd leave. He preaches about it one day, and then does the opposite the next. What kind of example and leadership is that ?

So, he either has a problem--and your answer is to abandon him in troubled times? or he was just out with a friend and had a drink with lunch or dinner...what's the harm in that?

I can't understand why you're so troubled by it, why he came by your house, OR why you'd want to quit your church because of that....
