I want to make a cool symbol that represents "oppression"

I think that whichever animal you choose should be one that you know a decent bit about and feel a personal connection to. That way, when people ask you about your symbol, you can give them a personal explanation of why each element was chosen, other than that the animal was cool, and that other people liked it.

Past that, however, I think that the hedgehog is kind of cool. It's attacked by many of the large predators, yet it has it's own spines and communcation skills as a way to fight back.

The plus side of the hedgehog as a symbol? It's not as cliched as if you were to be yet another bat toting symbol owner. As such, it would probably garner more attention and respect.

the owl...he moves his neck and eyes so uniquely...but I don't think it would be a good symbol for oppression. I think a caged bird would be a better symbol.

the green sea turtle. they're soooo cute. but i wouldn't think of them being oppressed.

if that's what you're looking for, the bat would be your best bet.
