They've definately come at a very convenient time. The indications are that the whole thing is being whipped up to be something it's not.
The devices are being described as "potentially viable" Potentially viable? Gas canisters, petrol and nails do not make a "bomb" without an explosive charge to set the whole thing going. Plus, all you'd get is a big, low temperature fireball with little compression - so the nails are next to useless. Hmmmm? Wait and see what happens this coming week - either legislation taking away a bit more freedom OR a significant political event missed by the media 'cos they were busy screaming about "bombs"
It's like that shite about "terrorists" mixing chemicals on planes to create explosives with common chemicals. Er. . no - you actually need a lab and about 3 days to do it. If it was as easy as the media said, we'd all be accidentally blowing ourselves up when we cleaned the bathroom at home. The ultimate proof it was a hoax - airport security staff were removing liquids from travellers and pouring the contents into large bins - MIXING THEM UP! BOOM!!!! Or maybe not.
To those of you who scream on about conspiricy - it's more comfortable to believe stuff like this is nuts than believe things are not as they appear and governments are not benign and don't want to protect us. If you really want to see the manipulation at work, go back and have a look at the papers and TV news in the run up to the Iraq war. Have a look at all the stuff we were told that we now know is complete made up bollocks. Where's the weapons of mass destruction, the secret nuclear labs, the chemical and biological weapons? Where's the missiles Saddam was going to use to hit us "in 45 minutes" Or have you forgotten? Do you remember the "suicide" of Dr David Kelly - who just happened to leak some very sensitive information proving the governments lies about Iraq. Do you REALLY believe he killed himself? Turns out he had a whole lot more to release and, just to be on the safe side, told his friends about it. How embarassing!!
You may also wish to google "gulf of tonkin incident" or "uss liberty" and find out a little more about false flag operations.

No.
I understand the impulse to want to believe that you weren't really being attacked. It makes you feel safer, like you're not hated by 1.2 billion religious fanatics (OK, they're not all fanatics, but still, there's a lot of hateful religious fantatics out there). But that's all it is: denial.

No but thanks to idiot politicians that's the end result.
We lived with the IRA for years before the "War on Terror" (an absurd concept) without having our liberty as abused as it is being now.

Absolutely!! I mean, those poor Nail salesmen were just going home to cook out on their grills (that's why they had the gas tanks in their cars-I know I carry them in the back seat!)
Dude, These people want one thing, to disrupt our lives and kill as many "infidels" as they can.
No conspiracy, just out right terror.

What a ridiculous thing to say. I'm very glad to have read it though, because I don't think I've ever encountered a true moron before, and now I can say I have.
