If they pass national healthcare the rich will be the only ones with timely effective healthcare. They can go to India to get it.

I think many people misunderstand what "universal health coverage" really means. I suspect most folks think "oh, if I have a cold I can just go to the doctor and I won't have to pay for it", which indeed they could...but I also suspect they think "I feel a little dizzy, so I'll just go to the hospital and get an MRI or PET scan to make sure I don't have brain damage and I won't have to pay for it" which they *won't* be able to do because it won't be medically necessary.
In short, "universal health care" does not mean "carte blanche". It will work just like health care coverage through an employer does now--you will still have a co-pay, some services still won't be covered (such as cosmetic procedures for vanity's sake), and you will still have coinsurance to pay.
The only thing that will be different is this: the government will deduct money from your paycheck to pay for *someone else's* care.
That is what I don't like about it--I am NOT responsible for OTHER people's medical coverage.

Its human nature to have classes of people. In the U.S. the different classes are evident everyday. The higher the class the better the medical care. Education helps and some people can even treat themselves from time to time. Advantaged classes will always be first in line. Guess we have to get used to it and try and acheive a better place in line for ourselves. By the way your picture looks beautiful. We should hook up.

Nothing is perfect ! But I still think people have a better chance with Universal health-care plan. The amount of money people spend on Insurance and co-pay. Then the meds and the lab test. It's really hard.

Yea funny how Americans are begging for universal health care when so many Canadians are coming here for care because they are told by bureaucrats that their wait in line for life saving operations will be longer than their Docs give them to live.

Our medical system is just like our legal system, best one money can buy. Anybody that wants socialized medicine in the US should try using the VA or the Indian Health Services.

You do look nice, and yes, you would be waiting behind Paris Hilton and all of those people. Also I'd like to point out that universal health care leads to inefficiency and worse care.

Yes, they all complain about it as well. But ALL of them get to complain about it. Here, many don't have the opportunity to receive the care to complain about.
