We have a miniature rose bush that's pretty healthy, although it has cobwebs on it. Just recently I went to go get rid of them but there are a bunch of really really small white bugs crawling all over the plant!

What are these things? Are they harmful? How do I get rid of them?

They are NOT aphids they are spidermites and they will kill the rosebush. How do I know?! The spiderwebs you mentioned I learned the hard way..several of my plants were killed. Buy a spraybottle squirt apx 2 TBSP dishsoap and add apx 2 TBSP oil(any cooking oil) fill the bottle with water, shake it up and spray the whole thing down incl. the stems . No need to rinse it off! Might have to repeat after about a week.

They could be aphids. Take the rose bush outside and, holding it upside down (you can put a plastic bag over the pot and gather it around the stem to keep the soil in place) spray it with the garden hose to wash them off. Then, I'd use a combination of Murphy's oil soap (1/4 t) & a soluable fertilizer like Peter's Professional or Miracle Grow (1/4 t) dissolved in water in a spray bottle to spray the plant, making sure to get the undersides of the leaves. That should discourage anything that wants to nibble on your plant.

They are Aphids and can be gotten rid of with a pesticide that can be bought commonly at any garden center. Aphids are very common to all roses. If this were an outdoor plant I would suggest using Lady Bugs instead of the pesticide.

Go to a hardware/ nursery store they make a special bug spray just for this, I had this happen to my roses also, sorry I do not remember the name of the spray. I know it's a good brand name, just follow the directions and the bugs will be gone.

they are aphids im pretty sure. The way they are harmful is they eat little tiny holes in you plant. Eventually there will be a lot of holes in you rose plant. ask a person in the gardening section at walmart (or maybe lowes or home depot would be better) what to use. Or google it. there may be ways to do it without buying anything

Aphids or white flies. Use a product called Safer Soap, available at Lowe's or Home Depot. The name is as it says...it is not a toxic insectiside and I have used it with good results. Usually two applications does the trick.

here is a very simple solution mix equal parts dish soap with listerine and spray on the rose bush and you will notice a difference no bugs ,the plants love it and the bugs hate it . good luck .

Aphids (greenfly) are easily controlled, take it outside and wash it with soapy water. This will also help with Whitefly, another possible "white bug"that can trouble indoor plants.
