I hear this one every day; in fact, I heard it when I was four years old. They'll say "It's fake, so why do you care?" My response to that is, 75% of what we watch on television is fake; if you want something real, hit the discovery channel.

It's sister; my picture was my failed attempt to look like a cartoon character with an idea.

Good point dude. Same thing happens when I tell people I like wrestling. Theyll say "You know it's fake right?". Apparantly I dont care that it's fake. I'll tell them I know and then theyll try to come up with reasons why I shouldnt watch it. It's annoying.

Most people enjoy athletic competition because of the drama involved. Who will win? Who will lose? No one knows until it happens. It's better than reality television.

OK, most people look at wrestling as athletic, but the results are staged. That stops their interest right there.

Pro wrestling is something of a big soap opera. That's fine. If you like that stuff, no one is going to argue with you. The problem, of course, is that when you start to talk about it as a real sporting event ("Who would win a match between...?" you are going to give the impression that you don't know it's predetermined.

There's just so many reasons to bash that crap, fake being just one of them. How 'bout promoting 'roid use or leading young kids to act out what they see & actually kill or maim someone? Any of these reasons ring a bell?

I agree.

That's why it's called "entertainment" and not true wrestling. Most people watch it to be entertained, not to think deep thoughts.
