Last season we were without it him for a large part of the season but also RVP was injured as well, having scored only one less than Berbatov in the short time he played. A large part of the season Clichy, Gallas and Rosicky were injured , in fact only six players played twenty plus games, so taking that into account of course we'll finish on top of Spurs, henry scores the goals but with our fully fit back four we'll not leak silly goals as we have. Cesc and Rosicky are capable of ten plus goals, and Theo was playing with an injury. there's no way we can be as unlucky next season ,and taking into account that Wenger will buy one or two players we'll be fine. It isn't just the players you buy it's what you get out of them and Wenger is no1 for that achievement, bearing in mind that we beat Spurs 3 times and Man u once without Henry, next season will be the same... only Jol will be under more pressure this time as over he's spent so much money in the last couple of seasons.

Stephen M ... Your right in that we should be concerned with finishing top.. but I say again this thread is in response to Spurs thinking they will finish top four just because of Bent and Berbatov

No one will break into the top 4 this year or within the next 5 years i'm afraid. Although Spurs and Newcastle are making big steps forward they are still a long way off Arsenal and Liverpool. And buying Darrent Bent for 16M will certainly not help Spurs. Imagine the quality they could bring in for that much. They should have used that money to buy 4 or 5 good players-not 1-who may I add is still not yet proven at Tottenham's level. Give it 5 or 6 yrs though, and we may just see a change to the elite 4 of our league.

oh dear what has happened to Arsenal. A few years ago i would never have seen a discussion like this. The aim of Arsenal fans is to finnish above tottenham? in the past that was a given and the discussions would have been about how they were going to finish top of the league.

This shows how Arsenal are on an ever downward spiral while Tottenham are continuing their march up the table, give it a few years and you'll be convincing us that Arsenal will be making it into the top 10

Hey i was just responding to what you wrote, my point is that for the past years you would have been writing about how Arsenal are going to win the league, where Tottenham would have been in relation would have been of no concern but suddenly it appears your fairly modest aims for the season have been reduced to finishing above Spurs.

ahead of spurs? sure. i dont think we're that much weaker, because we managed just fine without Henry last season.

Fabregas and Van Persie will shine this season, but i still dont think we'll finish in the top two - we'll probably come forth again. Of course it depends what forward we sign to replace Henry...hopefully Tevez. Also, the other teams in the Big Four have made great signings so it will be tough.

I think Arsenal will JUST finish 4th with Tottenham 6th
Henry is not the only player
I mean, how did Arsenal do LAST season
Whole season withoit Henry, and they still finished higher
Asenal were 5 steps above Tottenham
Henry left - 2
Tottenham still have to work extremely hard to match em

think about it henry great great player but 30 with injury problems 16m was the smart move i reckon . As for bent well he is a lot younger and scored every other game in a poor team. you have to ask why that stupid git erickson didn't take him to germany last year.I dunno if anyone is going to break into the top 4 i think its goin to be spurs . bent and robbie keene both get lots of goals and have the the potential to be a lethal partnership. you can never write off the gunners but now the man has gone you have to aask where is the cutting edge? i go for spurs ...just

Arsenal above Spurs? Of course goes without saying.

Great to watch a progressive team (SPURS) taking on a traditional giant (ARSENAL).

Maybe Bent is the missing link for the YID ARMY to get one over the mighty Gunners.
