I was gonna learn C, but I thought why not learn a higher level language thats easier. How easy is VB.NET?

I think VB.NET is significantly easier. It would certainly help to have a good knowledge base in C, but I think that if you apply yourself you will be able to learn VB.NET just fine. Best of luck!

VB is much easier, I recommend at least a semester of VB before C...
In VB string handling is so much easier compared to C. After getting comfortable with string manipulation and arrays in VB you will find it easier to deal with the way C handles strings as arrays.
VB is a beginners language (BASIC = Beginners All Purpose Symbolic Instruction Code)

Extremely easy, especially compared to C/C++.
