Procreation...it's all about procreation. That's why animals are all about survival and sex...that's why a lioness is so crazy when her cubs might be in danger. Life is about passing your genes on and the survival of the fittest. Any meaning beyond that is beyond our understanding...and stuff.

Does there have to be a meaning of life? The meaning of life is the meaning you give it. That's is what make life so precious. You can make your own meaning. I think many people will tell you what the meaning of life is, but in the end you have to give it your own meaning. Think of it as a blank canvas and you get to create your own picture.
