Why do men expect women to work, cook, clean, take care of children and pick-up their underwear off the floor?

Who else is supposed to run the house, cook meals and raise the children? If you choose to work or picked a man who can't earn enough so that you can stay home and be a wife/mother, that's your problem. Why get married?

For some men it is the way they was brought up by their parents. Used to the mother stayed at home and the man worked. Now days it almost takes 2 incomes to make it. I on the other hand have always done the cooking and most of the cleaning in any relationship that I have been in and I still worked and like to cook so I didnt mind. I like princess Gracie's answer. Some others, too. My ex didn't even through his trash away, get his own drinks, etc. He barely even worked. I was the main income, housewife, and I took care of his ill parents. My bf I have now cooks. He has offered to clean and do dishes etc. However, he is working and i am not. So I won't let him. The reason he cooks is he likes his food a certain way. He prefers to do it. When I go back to work we will split chores. I don't mind mowing grass, taking out trash, etc. Although, I don't know much about cars. If it was me. I'd pay a mechanic. I agree a lot of men are expectant of this. I'll never be with one of those again. Neither should anyone else. They might actually learn to do for themselves.

Men do not expect all this from their woman.

I personally hate this if a my girl is ready to do this. It means that she doesn't respect herself or she feels low of herself.

I like a disciplined and reformed life where things are best and systematic. Everyone is responsible for their items and underwear is personal thing.

If someone wants to work/cook/clean are something that's a personal choice and a matter of interest and we can tell someone to do them.

An individual should be responsible. All men are not alike, in fact, I would say, there are rare of this kind who are a burden on everyone living with them.

We should expect from others only if we are already practicing on a higher degree.

I think it a natural thing for them to do. Their Men!!! same way they leave the toilet seat up. I use to pick up my hubby cloths and wash them. One day I said hey! I work too and take care of our son,clean the house and so on. Now the only thing he has to do around the house is pick-up his cloths and WASH THEM... or he just won't have nothing to wear..

Not all Men expect this hun, sometimes women make the men expect this from them, then again some women like to do this, they are mothers, caring, sensative etc & things like u mentioned above needs to be done, keeps the mind occupied, keeps them busy, thats what u call family life, or in some ways adult life, most men who are truly attracted to their woman actually let the woman what she wants to do, this is true, trust me, take it from me as a guy, guys tend to respect women who are tall, slim, pretty looking, few Phycologist even stated this, guys who expect women to this & that etc & so on usually expect cuz they got them under control, and know that that woman cant get any other guy so she will do what the guys tell them to do, & deep down some guys know they can get better so will just tell the woman to do this & that knowing if she rejects or leaves the guy wont care so is just time passing & using it to his advantage, some guys know they cant get any better looking girl so they just stay with their woman, but yeah anyway like i said not all Men expect this, but even if women do this so what? whats the harm, is called looking after, making things tidy, its natural woman;s instinct, unless ur those minority of women who are insecure, like to flirt, go clubbing, degrade urself, no self-respect, dignity, etc, just be glad u got these things to do whereas some women only wished they were in ur situation as they have no childrean, struggle to get food on the table, struggle for shelter, struggle to get decent men & are living in poverty, dont be such weak minded, be realistic, its better for men to expect what u mentioned then them to expect sex 24/7, expect u to be like slave etc, so wake up cuz this is real life, ur not getting any younger, its time to take responsiblites, be a good mother, good mothers are those who have a successful life, are, secure, confident, open minded, loving, attractive. and will always put their kids first thats y they always have a rewarding life as their kids grow to love their mothers for how they have been brought up, also the men see this as loving woman so therefore will respect them in the long term & make them happy, trust me this is all true.

I guess I am a little backwards...I do not mind doing any of that...because he takes out the trash, washes and fixes the cars, works, mows the lawn, does house repairs. It is give and take, compromise...the way I thought relationships were supposed to be.

I was the husband and I'm the one that did all that til I got tired of working all day and coming home to do that. She said I would never have the guts to leave. I proved her wrong.

Yea especially when they throw them in the floor right next to the hamper. I think it's cuz their mother's probably picked up after them and they also figure you're gonna do it. Let them lay there until he picks them up.
