Let's face it George isn't the best at writing/directing anymore. I love the movies but we need to face it. So... Who would you trust to write and/or direct more movies?

Just a follow up... Everyone does know George didn't direct Empire and Jedi right?

I think Lucas is more of a "philosopher" of Star Wars, but people like action!

I would definitely trust Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson and Michael Bay who directed the "Transformers". I think they would do great.

Tim Burton also did the SECOND Batman. Ugh! For directing, I would pick James Cameron. Forget about Titanic; this guy can direct some awesome action/sci-fi. Call it fantasy if you like, I don't care; the practicality of it is exactly the same.

For the writer, have a contest where Star Wars fans compete for the position, and a winner is chosen by a panel of judges who are experts on the subject. I wouldn't have a problem with Lucas being a judge, just don't let the ****** direct or write anymore. I don't think a reality show would work with writers, but a competition nonetheless.

I agree with you. George is not what he use to be. If I had to chose though I would say Tim Burton. He did the first Batman and all his other movies are dark and Gothic like. I think he would do a pretty good job. But to have another director do a star wars movie might ruin the beauty of star wars.

I have to agree with you. George has a lot of money, but that doesn't make him the best. The people I would trust to direct more movies are his best friend, Steven Spielberg, Spike Lee, Martin Scorsese, CLint Eastwood, and Quentin Tarantino

I agree with Zomba Fett on the issue of George Lucas being a philosopher of Star Wars.

People want unbelievable special effects, so I would vote for Peter Jackson (well done job on "LOTR" and "King Kong"), and Michael Bay ("Bad Boys", "Transformers", "The Island", "Armageddon", "Pearl Harbor", etc.) These guys would do their best to bring the most out of the Star Wars.

(well, too bad Michael Bay is occupied with "Transformers-2"!!!)

i don't think there's anyone else who can live up to what george lucas has done with star wars... steven spielberg, most probably, since they did the saga together anyways, but to have more star wars movies in the future? i don't think they'll be as amazing as Ep. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6...

I think 3 or 4 super-fans should get together and come up with something. They at least love the films and know the characters. The stories would be more for the fans than for George's wallet.

Christopher Nolan (great work on Batman Begins),
Peter Jackson, or Steven Spielberg.

A collaberation of all three plus GL would be awesome!

to write another Star Wars? No one...yeah, George sucks now, but anyone else might screw it up even more.

I believe that Peter Jackson from the LOTR trilogies would do an amazing job.
