If it;s Windows XP/Vista for to Add/Remove Programs in Control panel and clear some junk out. Also, delete cookies by going to Tools, delete cookies. To clean the disk go to Start, Accessories, System tools, Disk Clean Up, wait for it to load, and choose the files to delete carefully, it has descriptions to help. Also go the the same System Tools and choose De fragment disk. And De fragment the C:/.

For me, I just run antivirus, spybot, registry cleaner, ad-aware, and do a disk defrag.

If its still running slow, the final solution that works really well, but may take a long time, is to just do a fresh reformat. be sure to back up all your files!

You can download and install a program called CCleaner and it will clean your cache. You can go to tools on top, click internet options and delete history, cookies and files .

i reformat my computer every 6 month or so and it speeds it up by a lot. i just backup all the important files by burning them to a DVD, and then reformat the computer and reinstall windows.

a slow computer can also be caused by lots of errors in the registry, try to use a registry cleaner if you don't want to reformat your computer

first go to control panel...add/remove programs....and then uninstall anything you dont want or use.

then go to programs.....accessories....disk clean up...and clean up your hard drive

then in accessories go to defragment and defrag the hard drive

restart your CPU and it should run smoothly
