I try to take the stairs whenever possible, I get the lift if I've got a shopping trolley.
When we were on holiday we were on the 4th floor with no lift, so we had to carry all the luggage up the stairs.

Always take the stairs to keep fit unless it's a lot of floors. I hate lifts in car parks that smell of wee.

When I visited London, I took the stairs into and out of the tube most of the time. English lifts are wicked compared to in the US! "Please stand clear of the doors..." SLAM! American elevators are much more polite than English lifts.

Escalators are a nice compromise... you can walk up if you want but you're not doing all the work.

Stairs if the climb is reasonable, no more than 8-9 flights. Lift if more than that, or if time constraints require a faster route.

I take the stairs up to the forth floor, otherwise the elevator. Stairs are good exercise but exhausting for too many flights.

When I'm feeling lazy, I take the lift.
Wait, let me rephrase that: when I'm feeling active I take the stairs...so yeah, I tend to take the lift.
