SO... everyone wants to know what we are going to do in Iraq since it appears there are no controling the masses.

Being that those that claim Jihad are not following the teachings of Islam could we somehow start pushing or promoting bad press for against how they are not acting as muslims?

What kind of backlash if any would we see? Would we get more cooperation from the civilians in Iraq and else where?

To farron: While your idea is valid and logical when your opponent is neither there is no resovling differences peacefully.

As far as the difference between war and terrorism... War has clear opponents and sides and combatants. Terrorists attack those that are non-combatants. People like Rossie O'Donnell make mention of the innocent civilians that have died in Iraq... we didn't kill most of them. Sure some were caught in the crossfire because that is what the terrorists want, to defame us but think about the thousands that have been killed in bombings on busses, in weddings, in schools and by their own countrymen.

How exactly are we supposed to do that? American Muslims (especially those actually preaching in Mosques) STILL refuse to step up and denounce the BS their brothers around the globe are involved in. You really have any hope of getting these guys to admit that the hard-liners are nuts?

There are "good muslims" in Iraq and to think they trust the U.S. and actually like us is risky thinking; with that said, Consider how the "bad ones" feel about the U.S.?

Nobody really wants the U.S. there and we should Oblige them quickly.

To risk getting caught trying to twist it around would be fatal I fear as the naughty Muslims might gain the support of the mainstream ones. That appears to be happening in Afghanistan.

There is no military solution in Iraq as an "end" to hostilities is an item negotiated; and the U.S. does not negotiate with "Terrorist"; did we all miss this concept somehow?

It will end when we recognize "Terrorism" is a word of convience as All War is conducted in "terror"; lable it anyway you wish; it will end when we recognize that not all contries need be like the U.S. and that "Terrorist" have an agenda and we need to hear thier greviences as apparently the press is mum on what They Want....and what do they want?

Do I condone any violence? No, and it need not matter whom conducts it behind any flag or lable they wish to fly.

For the record, Al Queda should be wiped off the map; yet, this will never be done, so, what can stop the violence but negotiate peace?

You know what a truly unconventional warfare tactic would be?

Intelligently resolving your difference with the opponent so you both don't waste resources and lives on pointless conflict while your other opponents wait for you to weaken yourself enough to strike.

I'm not sure it would be very successful. If you think that American boots on "Muslim soil" is stirring up the masses, just wait to see what happens when you say they aren't Muslims.

I think we're already doing that.
