I've been using pot to fall and stay asleep for many years, but I've stopped for health reasons and now I haven't been able to sleep for about 3 days now. How can this not be a physical addiction if my body hurts from exhaustion and yet i cant sleep! Any thoughts?

You may be having withdrawal symptoms, but if you have always had trouble sleeping, you may suffer from insomnia. Talk to your doc. You can also try taking Melatonin, a natural sleep aid available pretty much anywhere.

ive had the same thing although ive only used it constantly for 6 months tops, what i did was take sleeping pills for like a week until my sleep pattern sorted itself out.. another tip is to listen to some tunes as you sleep, if your a stoner i bet you love massive attack! 100th window is the best sleep remedy in the world ever! another way would be to buy some of that legal spice stuff off the net... its like very weak pot but really tasty, im not sure if that would affect your health but might be worth a try.. but yea sleeping tabs for a week combined with massive attack, magic!

Well your addicted for one, and that's a reason to stay away from it. It hurts your body, no matter what people want to believe it's toxic to the human body.
Find out why your too axious to fall asleep. Is your life stressful? And what can you cut out so your stress level will lower.

I had the same problem many years ago and believe it or not, cocoa worked for me! Not drinking chocolate but proper cocoa made with whole milk and strong. knocked me out like a light. Try a couple of mugs full before bedtime and relax with it.

Soak in a bath with a few drops of essential oil of lavender ($5 at herbal store). Drink a cup of sleepytime tea (sold at grocery stores). That ought to put you out.
Pot isn't addictive.

If you can try and exercise a little each day if possible and 2 hours before you go to bed try not to drink any stimulating drinks "coffee tea alcohol".. It will take time but it's worth it "in my opinion"
