My daughter is also 5 months. It seems like every time she learns a new "trick," she temporarily forgets her old ones.

No problem! My 5 month-old did the same thing a couple weeks ago (she'll be 6 months soon). She just razzed and razzed, which I think felt good on her teething gums, too.

As suddenly as she started to razz, she stopped. Now she has started rolling over and scooting, so most of what I hear is HOLLERING when she rolls over and gets stuck. Her babbling has returned, too, and she's added big, giant belly laughs to her repertoire. She seems to change every week now. Don't worry, though. I wondered the same thing until the razzing phase ended.

It's definitely normal. They can only concentrate on learning one thing at a time. My daughter was saying a few words around 10 months and then she stopped all together while she learned to walk and run and didn't really start up talking again until around 21 months. But, at that point her vocabulary exploded! Now, just a few months later she says everything!

At this stage, not to worry. She just learned she can do this, so she's going to do this as much as possible. (Just like when she discovered her fingers or toes - they were in her mouth constantly because they could be) If she was 2 years old and this happened, it'd be more cause for concern. However, if it's still going on at her next checkup, mention it to the doctor so they can keep watch.

You had a 5mo old that knows how to talk??? Wow, put her in school!! Most 5 mo olds may have a small vocabulary like mama or dada, but not really talking yet. To them its just noise. So yes, she has found a new "noise" that interests her. She'll have many before she actually starts to speak.

You should absolutely NOT be concerned. At that age, babies are experimenting with sounds. As she gets bigger, her vocabulary will increase, but for now, just let her have fun making different sounds with her mouth. In a little while she should start with "mama" and "dada" so watch out for that. Good luck!

perfectly normal. My baby girl did that too, she kinda learned how to blow air and make noises, after she got bored with it she picked up where she left her blabbing

Provoke her to speak but believe me you are glad when they shut up for a day or two. It is normal.
