FARTLEK. That is interval sprinting (it is a swedish word). Interval sprinting is when you jog and then sprint jog sprint jog sprint. You start to sprint when your heart weight is low enough.

When you Interval Sprint your metabolic rate speeds up and it stays like that when you are done so that you keep burning fat.
In Fact when you jog it takes you 12 minutes (if you are in great shape) to start burning fat otherwise you are just burning sugar.

I train like this and i lose on average 3-5 pounds by sleeping.

PS. I am in good shape 14.8% body fat and 180 lbs. I am 5'11'' 1/2. I am 14.
I am a catcher and the david Ortiz of my little league and the starting catcher for the 13th best aau team in the nation.

To the person above me you are right on alot of things, but when you weight train the muscle pulls on the bone which expands it and makes it more dense, which will make you grow. That being said you want to train with lighter weights so you can get about 16-25 reps.
Since you are in LL (12 and under probably) if you are going to weight train shoot more torwards 25 reps. Make sure you use proper form. The best way to gain strength is to emphasize the lowering of the lift try a 4 count on the way down.

Good Luck

First things first... how old are you? You dont really want to start lifting weights when you are too young prior to fully developing. With that being said, some time (maybe a lot) on the treadmill or on the track would probably be the way to go for now. If you are older, lots of reps, but dont waste your time with the bench press. Younger kids think this will help you, but its not really a functional muscle. Instead, work your core and your legs. These are the most important muscles for you while playing baseball.
